CCVS A&R Clarification
05-05-2005 -- DATE: May 4, 2005
TO: Members of Arkansas Association for Medical Staff Services
FROM: Rosetta Toles, CCVS Program Manager
Lyndsey Dumas, AHA Liaison
SUBJECT: CCVS Policy Change Clarification
This is in reference to the confusion over the policy change made March 18, 2005 with regards to the two-year Authorization and Release form. We always endeavor to work with you, our customers, to meet your deadlines whenever and wherever possible. Although we attempted to do this on the A & R issue, it did not work as we would have liked. In hindsight, we should have extended the deadline for an additional thirty days.
I do believe the time frame in which the process change would actually take place caused the misunderstanding in this event. Again, we regret this and offer our apology. Your input is always welcomed and we thank you for forwarding your concerns directly to us. Your comments have enhanced the opportunity for us to put the following steps in place to prevent any such miscommunication in the future.
* Technology department double-checking CCVS E-mail Blast for any recognizable problems.
* Lyndsey Dumas with the Arkansas Hospital Association will be sent a copy of the notice to post as well.
* We will also put an ALERT on the web whenever we make changes that ALL need to know about.
* This information will continue to be printed in the newsletter also.
We have grown from this experience and hope not to repeat a situation such as this in the future.
Sincerely,
Rosetta Toles

Primary Verificiation
07-26-2004 -- Our office is concerned about primary verification when a hospital refuses
to respond to our letters and will only provide us with a roster. Can this be considered primary; are they violating a privacy issue with their docs by sending the rosters and how can we verify dates of affiliation? The dates of affiliation can be very important for a new applicant, especially if there may be some question regarding a time gap. Applicants can't always be precise and many times all they provide are the years they were there.
